A day of coming home
Today's edition keeps circling back to home. Luna, a 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier, spent more than a month lost in Yellowstone and is back with her owners. Stephen Hubbard, a retired Michigan teacher, has been released after more than four years held in Russia. Green sea turtles have moved from endangered to least concern, though their recovery is not yet complete. And people who lost their speech are getting a synthetic voice of their own.
Some of it is slower. In Mineral Wells, Texas, Dale is 86 and still working on the 62-foot steel boat he started in 1987. Strangers have turned up to help him get closer to finishing.
If you have a minute, look at nature. A wildlife-only bridge in Colorado has already cut vehicle collisions by 91 percent. Bleached corals may recover within weeks after touching a healthy clone. That coral work is new research, so it is early.
Thanks for reading. Get home safely tonight.
