Young talent takes centre stage at Northeast Navodaya chess and yoga championship

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Rangia hosted the Northeast Regional Chess and Yoga Meet 2026 from April 26–28, drawing 260 students from 106 schools under the Shillong Region. The event featured multiple age-category chess tournaments and diverse yoga competitions, promoting mental focus and physical fitness. Inaugurated by Sister B. D’Costa, the meet emphasized discipline and sportsmanship. Winners were selected to represent the region nationally, with medals and trophies awarded during a cultural closing ceremony.
