The small village of Puhoi, just north of Auckland City, is tucked away and hidden in a quiet valley just off State Highway 1. The village is known as being the only Czech settlement in New Zealand, and still holds true to its Victorian era, small town New Zealand roots. The best part is tucked away in the Puhoi Pub and Stables, a good old fashioned New Zealand pub built in 1879 and left virtually the same in all the years since.
