Do diapers affect a baby's ability to walk?

A study found diapers temporarily alter how babies walk and balance. Both disposable and cloth diapers changed infant gait mechanics immediately. This effect was comparable to babies with less walking experience. However, the study did not show permanent motor delays in children. Supervised diaper-free play offers babies natural movement opportunities.
